Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

Debian has updated their package to use python 2.6 in sync with ubuntu. 
So the package can be synced again.

Changelog since current karmic version 1.4.0-1ubuntu1:

  * Make ics ready for Python 2.6. Thanks to Alessio Treglia. (Closes:
