Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

Please sync the latest version from debian as they have updated the 
package to the latest upstream version and have included the python 2.6 
transition change. So package can be synced.

Changelog since current karmic version 1.51b-1ubuntu1:

python-biopython (1.51final-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Merged patch from ubuntu to make the package ready for
    python2.6 (Closes: #543236).
