First reply: No, -2 does not fix the issue, you get a

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

0xb7ec4c88 in silc_cipher_get_name (cipher=0x0) at silccipher.c:377

A review of the source code reveiled the known source is not patched.
