You have been subscribed to a public bug by Nathan Handler (nhandler):

Binary package hint: uucpsend

Here is the most recent Ubuntu entry in debian/changelog:

uucpsend (1.1-3ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

  * Fix bashism in debian/rules.
  * Fix bashism in Makefile. Fix FTBFS.

Michele removed the bashisms so that it would build with /bin/sh. Now,
here is the most recent Debian entry in debian/changelog:

uucpsend (1.1-4) unstable; urgency=low

  * Lock shell to bash in the root Makefile (really closes: Bug#379712)

 -- Martin Schulze <joey at infodrom.org>  Thu, 03 Apr 2008 17:58:44 +0200

Debian chose to simply set the SHELL variable to /bin/bash. Both of the
solutions are valid. As a result, I feel we should drop our changes in
favor of a sync from Debian.

** Affects: uucpsend (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
