thanks for the fix. At a first glimpse, it looks good, however some comments:
* please list what files you changed in debian/changelog
* we must get this fix first into intrepid (so debian/changelog should point to intrepid)
* then it's possible to do a SRU for hardy, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates
