Depends field of all binary package says that:
Depends: lightning-extension (>= 0.7), lightning-extension (<< 0.7.*), ...

but "*" is not a valid character in a version number, as said in :

"The upstream_version may contain only alphanumerics[35] and the
characters . + - : ~ (full stop, plus, hyphen, colon, tilde) and should
start with a digit. If there is no debian_revision then hyphens are not
allowed; if there is no epoch then colons are not allowed."

And http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html doesn't report exception to this.
So, no "*" should be contained in any dependency related field.
