Daniel, where are you getting this build log from?

The build has no need to call PHP, it's an arch-indep package.

The package on symfony's website are broken, they're actually built
manually, rather than through a source package ;(

Debian sid WILL have 1.1, but at the moment, 1.0 is the current Stable
release (as 1.1 is new out the door)

As soon as I've gone through all the licencing issues for 1.1, then
it'll be available in sid as an option for install...
