<div dir="ltr">This Thunderbird issue is doing my head in! It now tells me I have emails that don't exist! I suppose asking it to run Ubuntu could be taxing the hardware and causing an overheat. Have a look in /var/log/syslog to see if there are any messages before the freeze. If nothing there then it could well be a hardware issue, overheating possibly, or PSU for example. Try booting into memtest and leave it running for a few hours and see if it freezes then or shows errors.
