Thanks for this Tyler.

At the moment i only seem able to find the acpi call for the power button, not for the cog.

Are they the same at:

/etc/acpi/events/powerbtn

and then:

/etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh

?

If not can someone tell me where the acpi script for the cog is?

Thanks,

j

On 7 October 2012 22:31, Tyler J. Wagner <tyler@tolaris.com> wrote:

The cog *probably* sends an ACPI call, and ACPI has a script that it runs
to shut down. I'd start by investigating that. It's possible that replacing
whatever it is doing with the poweroff command would solve it for you. A
hack, but if it works, great.

I recall doing something similar back in the ... edgy (?) days?
