ah sorry that was badly worded... I meant, I've uninstalled them, with the intention of reinstalling them. It seems to be linux-image-2.6.27-12-generic that's giving me the trouble... all the packages that don't depend on it install fine.<BR>
However, I haven't found any files and clicked delete. If it helps, this is what cd /boot && ls -a returns: <BR>
