just a quick update!this is my ethernet connection on the xp machine! Javad, a) Does the P3/P4 machine have a 100MB port? b) Have you checked the cables are OK, by temporarily swapping them for some "known good" cables? c) It may be an idea to assign static IPs to the PCs and connect them with the cross over cable to rule out the router being the problem...
