Maybe just try running the following in shell/konsole in no particular order. (Make sure you have synaptic closed)<BR>

sudo apt-get clean<BR>
sudo apt-get update<BR>
sudo app-get remove virtualbox<BR>
<BR>
... and see if that helps clean it up...<BR>
