Hi George,

For Samba, you can start here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Samba  You
will need to set up Samba both as a client and as a Server for maximum
functionality.

Shares can be set up from within the Nautilus file browser (aka 'Files' in
the Launcher)

Have a try and ask again if you find any problems,
