[ubuntu-uk] Issues with new 14.10 install

Having recently bought my new laptop I have installed 14.10 on a freshly
wiped drive. I have had a number of issues however.

1) When booting it states it is doing so in 'insecure mode'. I have
never seen this before but it doesn't sound like a good thing!

2) I have noticed Nautilus freezing and greying out repeatedly.
Extremely annoying and not what you expect for £500 worth of kit.

3) When deleting files it kept saying it could only permanently remove
them. It turns out that a large chunk of files I have copied over from
my old drive have the wrong permissions set on them and were screwing
with the system. I had to chown the Trash folder before it would delete
correctly but even now they are not showing up in the rubbish bin. I
have no idea where they are going!

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Gareth
