[ubuntu-uk] 14.04 and laptop battery life

Hi,
Does anyone know whether 14.04 will fix the very short battery life problem on laptops?
Example - in 13.10 my Lenovo U410 tells me the battery will only last just over 2 hours - Windows 8.1 on the same machine, nearly SIX hours! :(
