Well 792 was the specific one for my old laptop with difficult ATI
Radeon graphics. I'm not saying it's right for you.

Note they're only 4*3 aspect ratio; modern widescreens are unsupported
by this method. That's why I suggested to pick the matching /vertical/
resolution - e.g. 792 is 1024*768 in 24-bit colour, so it's the right
vertical res for a modern 1368*768 display with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

There is a more modern method with grub_gfx_payload or something, but
TBH, I've not bothered to use it - I put up with the momentary text
display.
