No I didnt see anybodys reply.....in the window that is open, if you hit 
the up down arrows you can see what you have typed in in that 
window......you close it its gone......havent checked ~/.bash_history 
entered it into the terminal and it says permission denied....I used to 
be able to use the up down arrows when I opened a terminal and find what 
I had written before.....
