[ubuntu-uk] Sessions in Xubuntu

This niggling little irk is spoiling my otherwise sublime Xubuntu experience - sessions in Xubuntu start with a terminal window, Google Chrome and 5 or 6 Cairo-docks in the same location each time.  I'm sure I've done something in the past to save sessions but I'm sure that I have un-set that setting.

Any suggestions?
