I'd be willing to organise a release party in the nottingham area if there was enough interest?
Any nottingham users out there?

Hi all,
it gives me great pleasure to announce that the second Ubuntu Happy Hour
will be at the Prince of Wales in Farnborough. This nice country pub is
within easy reach of the Farnborough and Farnborough North stations and
is conveniently situated next to a road for ease of driving. If you have
a private jet or helicopter then the airfield is only a short taxi ride
away.

The next stop on the Happy Hour tour http://ubuntu-uk.org/happy-hour/
will be at a more northerly latitude.

It has been six months in the making and has occupied the time of a cast
of thousands, finally the Debian derived GNU/Linux distribution we have
all been waiting for is here. Ubuntu 11.10 the Oneiric Ocelot is
released on October 13th and what could be a more fitting way to
celebrate a dreamy cat than to go to a pub and have a few beers? The
plan as it stands is to re-visit the Cask Pub and Kitchen which we will
have visited (adjust tense as appropriate) on the 22nd September for the
first Happy Hour. Should that turn out to be ghastly we might switch
venues so do check back to the LoCo directory announcement
http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/ubuntu-uk/1283/detail/ before setting off
for the Cask.

I should have mentioned, it would be fantastic if someone wants to
organise a release party in one of our other fine cities either on the
release day or perhaps a few weeks later when we might have CDs to
distribute.

Is there enough interest for a sussex based meet/release party?
I'd be interested in helping organise but don't know if there is any existing interest already.

Simon

Yay!
Whoever is choosing pubs has a good eye, I feel. The Shooting Star for
Karmic, the Porterhouse for Natty and now Cask for Oneiric. All good
solid choices. :?)
I shall see you there!

Thanks for that.
I'm aware of Cyanogen but I didn't think it supported the HD. I've
found the references to "Inspire 4G" etc offputting, as the HD isn't a
4G device.
Last time I checked, no Cyanogen ROM was available, but it looks like
that's changed. Must give it a bash. I had been considering this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040
I'm running LauncherPro at the moment but I have tried ADW. Both seem
very Spartan compared to Sense, though - although I do like the
performance improvement!
Cheers!
