[ubuntu-uk] Ubuntu - Wrong Direction?

I did log in, it gave me an empty editing tools bar and no cursor. It was
like viewing the page with a little less real estate!

Without windows: yes
Desktops: yes
Laptops: yes
Netbooks: yes
A mix of new and second user machines.
