Hi John
If I get a sort of reasonable (recycled) desktop PC which runs Ubuntu
ok, would you be interested in having it? How would you judge a PC
for your use - say, how long would Firefox take to start up when first
used (it is faster the second time it is used in a PC run)?
Is there a test web page you might use for me to judge 'speed'?
Do you know what your broadband speed is?
Is there a way of you getting the PC when available, from Bracknell?
Do you have a monitor and mouse and keyboard? The only monitors which
get recycled lately are CRT ones. They are usually good displays but
the chunky size makes them unfashionable. Flat screen monitors are not
usually recycled (yet).
Best regards
alan
