The whole concept of "pre-installed PCs with Ubuntu" is surely that those
who would not install for themselves have an avenue to go down to get the
OS?

Sounds like these folks are great, if you are happy to accept "wink wink,
nudge nudge" but aren't prepared to put it in writing - I think that is
worse than not doing it at all.

Not impressed, and I'm going to fire off an e-mail to them to tell them so.
