Hello, sorry how do you mean by 2d? You mean the desktop with out
netbook-launcher (which is not 3D)?
And as for freezes, check to see if your graphics card drivers are
right, because the gnome desktop DOES use 3D acceleration when
available.
Try switching back to the UNR desktop to see if it still freezes,
which would probably point to it being an Update.
