the Narwhal isn't as photogenic as a Meerkat certainly, but the
codenames are just codenames for the release in development, once
released it will be "Ubuntu 11.04" take a look at the Lucid desktop CD,
there is no mention of "Lucid" or "Lynx" (but if you open it up and look
inside the pocket there is a dotty Lynx image).
On a point of detail the window button positions were in Lucid, you
haven't seen everything in Maverick, I think the multi-touch stuff and
unity might qualify as somewhat ground breaking though.
