Also, you can more often than not set a boot device *priority* so you 
don't need to play about with it often, e.g.

Boot Order:

1st: CD
2nd: USB
3rd HDD

Then, when you turn the machine on, if there is no CD in the tray, and 
no bootable USB device plugged in it will boot from the HDD.
