I'm on 32bit but I've done some development on a TB extension and
consequently tend to hang around in the TB mailing lists and IRC etc. I
hear no end of issues with TB on 64bit. Mozilla do not (yet) build a
64bit package themselves and the ubuntu build is way behind the current
Mozilla release so I tend to run their latest release (or trunk builds)
grabbed directly from their site. These are only 32bit. Lightning seems
to be particularly unfriendly toward 64bit.

I've had 64bit processors for ages but have never found any reason to
actually run a 64bit OS yet. Other than for fun/experimentation. 32bit
works just fine and unless you have oodles of RAM, from what I have read
elsewhere a 64bit os will actually be slower that the 32bit equivalent
for most tasks...
