What Virtual Machine software are you using?

Regardless of what you are using, there should be an option to specify 
an ISO image to mount as a CD/DVD drive.

This may give you some pointers, it covers VirtualBox on Windows XP (and 
Ubuntu 7.10 I believe) but the principal is the same...
