[ubuntu-uk] Can only type uppercase into terminal -- how can I change back to lowercase?

Hi,

Suddenly, I find that I can only type uppercase characters in the Ubuntu
Terminal window.  Perhaps it was something I said!  But now I cannot
change back.  It makes no difference whether Caps Lock in on or not.

Any suggestions?
