That's alright, I'm not the best at explaining sometimes either. Try
making a backup of your sources.list (sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list
/etc/apt/sources.list.bak) and then just putting the following line in
your sources.list:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ jaunty main

Then run apt-get update.
