Depends exactly what you mean.
Will it remember programs you've installed? No, not without some extra work.
Will it remember settings for the programs you've used? Probably,
unless you choose to format the /home partition.
Will it remember pictures, documents and other things you've
created/downloaded? Definitely, unless you choose to format the /home
partition.

Should be. Make sure you have a backup first, and have checked that
the backup worked, otherwise you might lose everything on the machine
(e.g. if the power dies).
Also, with a backup, it's not quite so distressing if you choose the
wrong option and format the disk while installing. :-)
