Ahh yes, I'm guilty of reading the mags without buying in the past, 
nowadays though I generally only buy 2 magazines, Retro Gamer and Linux 
Format and they're both on subscription (hence thinking £8 was a bit 
steep!).  £25 a year for the subscription doesn't seem that bad TBH, 
IIRC I am paying something like £15 a quarter for Linux Format.
