Am I correct in believing you are using smtp to send messages from
evolution?
If you expect to be using smtp service with talk talk, which I think
would be quite usual, then there may be something amiss with your
current configuration of your use of the talk talk smtp server. That
is the facility to send emails via talk talk.

Your email receiving service is probably using the talk talk pop3
service, and this is apparently ok.
