It's superb if you want virtualisation through OS segregation. It's like
an uprated version of chroot .

Lots of Linux hosting companies use the commercial version (Virtuozzo)
for their user segregation.

Subject: [ubuntu-uk] OpenVZ ?

Hallo all

I am proficient in VMServer and ESXi on both Win and Linux, but came
across OpenVZ and Linux-VServer, I understand it is not a "True" virtual
environment as it still makes use of the host core but I was wondering
if any of you had any experiance with it. AND yes I knowit is for Linux
and therefore you can not run other OSs on/in it.

Is it good/bad, I know OpenVZ is trying hadr to bring it in the core
Linux kernel but apparently VServer is not interested in that

thanx
