OK, SO I plugged the printer directly into the Linux server, used cups
to setup the server ans Samba to share the server, everyone is allowed
to print.
Test,
1.0. Print test page from CUPS - All OK
1.1. Log on to Win client as LOCAL windows Administrator and setup the
default domain printer (Share provided by Samba)
1.1.1. Print test page - ALL OK
1.2. Log on as non admin domain user to win client
1.2.1 Print test page - ALL OK
1.3. Log on as admin domain user to win client
1.3.1 Print test page - ALL OK
Now I move the printer back to the Windows Client and share the
printer in the Windoes client
Set up Cups to point to the new location...
Test,
2.0. Print test page from CUPS - All OK
2.1. Log on to Win client as LOCAL windows Administrator and setup the
default domain printer (Share provided by Samba)
2.1.1. Print test page - ALL OK
2.2. Log on as non admin domain user to win client
2.2.1 Print test page - FAIL
2.3. Log on as admin domain user to win client
2.3.1 Print test page - ALL OK
////////
- When I print from Win client (2.2.1) the win client looks as if it
is sending the print job but looking on cups (web interface) the print
job never arrives...
- Looking in the Win client logs i found no warnings or errors
- Looking in the Win client (with the Printer attached) logs i found
no warnings or errors
- I am not sure where to look for the cups logs or any other logs...
Please could you direct me to find the other logs and check them as
well...
- Also if you have any info for me on how to solve this problem...
thanx
