[ubuntu-uk] Ubuntu broken, low graphics mode, no sound

I managed to get everything reinstalled, and the graphics seems okay at
the moment.
However, I currently have no sound in some applications, including
VirtualBox and Media Player. I had sound yesterday but today nothing in
these, but it is there in a video playing on a website in Flock browser.
