I'm sure you'd be able to find one cheaper than £20/£25 though.  I 
picked up one of the Sweex Exeternal sound cards for £18 from a local 
super store (Trago Mills in Newton Abbot).

The Sweex adaptor also has digital in/out but it doesn't support 
DTS/Dolby Digital passthrough.

Other than that, a USB Soundblaster?
