Given most (if not all) of us Ubuntu users get our Firefox crack from
the repo or an install CD, the number of people who "download firefox"
is probably much higher than whatever that site says. Of course they can
only measure actual downloads from their site, and not from all the
Ubuntu mirrors and CDs.
Then again, note that all non-ubuntu versions of firefox phone home to
check for updates periodically (unless you tell them not to) so I
suspect they can get a good idea of how many copies (and of what
version) are in use at any time (although proxies will naff that up a
little).
Cheers,
Al.
