Yes, I've been mulling this over, and came to the same conclusion as 
you.  I think I must have changed the DNS myself, and forgotten both why 
and that I had.  I plead senility!

Thanks for your help.  I've already learnt a lot about DNS.  I'm going 
to follow up the articles mentioned in this blog for starters
