Hi Raj
What you refer to as a "windows interface" we would call a number of other
things, such as "graphical desktop" or "gui" or simply "desktop".
I suspect you may have installed the server version of Ubuntu which does
not come with a GUI.
You have two options... number 1 you can download a new CD image.
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
(make sure you take the Desktop Edition)... and install it fresh
Number 2 (easier) is to log in to the "command prompt" or as we call it
"the terminal" with the username and password you used when you installed.
Once you have logged in, you can install the GUI with one simple command
(provided you are connected to the internet)
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
It will ask you a couple of yes/no questions - just say yes :)
It will also take a while as is needs to download some data
Once it is finished, you can reboot (literally, type reboot) and it will
boot into your shiny new Desktop GUI.
Hope this was helpful to you. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Cheers,
Michael
