I did an upgrade (NOT re-install) from Gutsy to Hardy, and did not 
encouter this problem at any time. I have burnt several ISO CDs at max 
speed and checksummed them.

I am using a Dell Optiplex 745 desktop with DVD-ROM CD-RW combo drive.
