[ubuntu-uk] Trying to figure out why Thunderbird would crash on one theme but not another

On 7.10 if I use some themes (I normally use "Crux", but I've had to 
revert to "Clearlooks") then Thunderbird crashes when editing properties 
or sending replies, but I can't get my head around why this would be the 
case...

Does this mean that if you change from the default blue theme to a 
prettier purple one something fundamentally changes in the way that 
Thunderbird relates to the GDM? Otherwise why would it crash on one but 
not the other?

Whilst I wait for Ubuntu/Gnome and Mozilla to find a solution to the 
issue I'll stick with the default theme, but if anybody can explain to 
me why changing theme would lead to such behaviour I'd be very interested...

Oh just to clarify this is the GDM theme not the Thunderbird theme...
