Ok, the shell script I put together, but forgot to attach it to the mail I sent him.. so that hasn't been tested yet :oops:

mplayer, thanks for that, it works well. Just a query, is there a GUI version that he can use? or what would the command be to pause/play playback once you've started it with `mplayer file.mp3`?
