OSX comprises parts of FreeBSD (Unix), Part NeXT (dead ex-Jobs software/hardware company, like apple, just smaller), and Part other stuff. Apple are pulling together a number of different open-source cores, including stuff spawned from the Linux world.

OSX is not running on a Linux Kernel.
