Just to throw an alternative out there - For reasons failing
understanding I stupidly studied Law at uni before I realised that I
actually didn't want to be a lawyer and that I should have studied CS
instead.

So, I'm currently doing BSc (Hons) Computing[1] with the Open
University. The course mostly teaches OOP and Java, with some more
theoretical CS included too. There are no entry requirements and
obviously because it's the OU you can take it at your own pace (for
example, if you wanted to work or do some internships while you study).

It'd be nice to hear from anyone on the list who has any opinions about
OU degrees compared to degrees from residential universities, especially
with regards to how they're viewed by employers.

Cheers,

Chris
