I do not know anyone running or anyone who uses sparc linux but i am looking
at building a linux recording studio for a friend of mine, probably using a
quad core pc which i will build.
Were you thinking of a studio also? Is that what the server is for?
Regards,
Daniel

first place.do you know anybody who is into sparc linux or busy with
building a linux recording studio?

hi daniel,
thanks for your patience .i found out about the forum and there was good
information about the keyboard.the layout is generic 104/105 and not sun
type 4 or 5.

I presume it does not have a usb connection on the back? If so try that
maybe?
The other thing you could try is just select standard 102(I think) key
keyboard just incase it is a key mapping problem which is a bug.
Please read this as I believe it maybe help you:

Ok then, well is there any consistency to the letters and symbols, ie if you
press the "w" key and you then get a ":" does it stay like that if you press
the w key again?
I presume its is a normal uk qwerty keyboard?

Daniel

sorry daniel.no result is not correct.it's rather that the mapping is
completely chaotic and you get all kind of letters and symbols on the most
unexpected key.

has anybody an idea why my sun keyboard type 5 from an old ultra5 is not
recognised by the lovely ubuntu server?
