Hi Alan,

The Gutsy repo has 23268 packages compared with Hardy's repo of a current 23373 packages.
Although the vast majority of packages are identical, it's also showing up http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/

This means it will work with apt in sources.list.  Although I wouldn't recommend this to any production machine.

Where did you hear the repo isn't open?
