fwiw, the best sources of information for this (if you can't get hold of
someone who already knows the answer) are launchpad's bug tracker and a
daily ISO image of gutsy.
Searching the bug reports should be fairly easy, and if you have the
bandwidth and some time it's very helpful to grab a daily-live ISO and
boot it. You don't have to upgrade your machine to gutsy at all, but
being a live CD you can test things like hardware and report back to
launchpad if they are still broken or if they are fixed and work fine :)
