Recently I was given a Gateway PC without any software.  I couldn't

Windows drivers for the integrated hardware.

I would have binned it but remembered the CDs I got from Alan at the Fair.

Ubuntu Live booted from the CD and soon had all the hardware working

the slightest comment.

I am impressed.  I hope I will learn enough so that I can completely 
ignore
Vista.
