later comment - videos work well on machines here except for my demo
laptop (dell inspiron 1100)
The sound plays fine but kaffeine displays no picture - only a blue
background. My guess is it is related to the (high) resolution of the
video file. Other videos play ok but I notice they are lower
resolution - for example the bundled Examples folder with the distro
and also the same installing_updates_on_ubuntu via google videao etc
etc are all ok.
There may be a special issue with the dell inspiron 1100 because it
(uniquely) does not report its video parameters fully to the bios and
recent (xorg related) live CDs initially display only 680x400 and
small in centre display. This is fixed by simple edits of the xorg
config file but I think may suggest some special tweaks elsewhere
maybe. (?)
