Thanks, but I've done many runs with memtest and the RAM is fine. The
machine just doesn't want to pickup the hdd past the bios stage when
there's more than 2GB of RAM installed (i.e it won't boot from the hdd
and it doesn't get picked up from the live cd). I read on a forum
somewhere that it was a bios issue, but I can't find the post
unfortunately.
